The National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) reports that 90 percent of adults over the age of 65 prefer to stay in their current residence as they age. At present, one-third of American households are home to one or more residents 60 years of age or older. There are many services & products that are now available to equip aging seniors with the ability to “Age in Place.”
Diversified Nurse Consultants has championed the “Aging-In-Place” philosophy since its inception in 2011. Most adults would prefer to “age-in-place” or to live in their own home independently, safely, and comfortably for as long as possible. We see this quite often with the clients we serve. As trained, experienced aging life care professionals, our purpose is to navigate, coordinate & institute high-quality & cost-effective solutions.
The World Health Organization has developed eight age-friendly domains which the services & products address, as well as, where many organizations are coming together in collaboration to promote life-long wellness and aging care:
- Community Support & Health Services
- Social Participation
- Housing
- Mobility & Access (Transportation)
- Outdoor Spaces & Buildings
- Respect & Social Inclusion
- Communication & Information
- Civic participation & employment
