Ginger feels a strong desire to use her professional experience 27 years as a registered nurse as well as her personal experiences to help guide others through the healthcare maze. Her goal is to help her clients formulate clear understandable plans for their healthcare. In 2011, she completed her certification as a nurse life care planner and co-founded Diversified Nurse Consultants, LLC. Since founding the company Ginger has been key in developing service lines and new programs for Care Management and Medical Legal Consulting that have allowed Diversified Nurse Consultants to provides services to thousands of individuals over the past 11 years.

Ginger has spent her nursing career working in a wide variety of settings. Her experience includes critical care nursing with a strong focus on cardio pulmonary and surgical intensive care, as well as; primary case management, long term care administration, and acute care management. She feels that her experience as a RN has given her a great overview of the healthcare system.

Just as importantly, she feels that her experience as a healthcare consumer and family member gives her a very unique insight in dealing with difficult healthcare issues. From a very young age, Ginger had a personal view of the impact of illness and disease on patients and their caregivers. Growing up Ginger witnessed this in the lives of her mother’s family as they cared for her aunt with a form of severely mentally limiting form of cerebral palsy. In her adult life as a mother and step mother she has continued to gain personal and professional insight into the challenges of navigating our healthcare system while advocating and caring for her children. In 2003 following a spinal cord injury her then 14 year old step son was left as a quadriplegic. In 2010, her daughter was diagnosed with CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome). Later in 2010, a tragic car accident took the life of Ginger’s mother and left her 12 year old daughter with a severe traumatic brain injury and life threatening abdominal trauma. All of these experiences resulted in months spent in hospitals and inpatient rehab centers, as well as years of dealing with outpatient rehab and home health care services as a consumer. Needless to say, these tragedies have resulted in millions of dollars in healthcare bills, thousands of insurance statements to sort through and countless meetings with doctors and attorneys.
Ginger states that there is no magic formula to maneuver through these issues. Each individual, each family will have their own unique experiences and needs. It takes knowledge and good critical thinking skills to find the right answers and make good informed decisions. She is hopeful that with the culmination of all of her experience that she will be able to guide others through this process.
